Since 1999 the exhibition "Anne Frank - a History for Today" has been touring Lithuania and Latvia. Various activities have been organised in conjunction with this touring exhibition. Many of these activities will continue in the future and are available to communities and schools throughout Lithuania and Latvia. Below, the
following activities are described in more detail: 1. THE EXHIBITION

Teenagers
from two schools in Vilnius, Vilnius Secondary School # 9 and the
Jewish School have been working with British stage director Henri
Seebohm since early 2000 on both a "theatre in education"
and a "drama in education" project.
The play And
Then They Came For Me, written by James Still, is being performed
by Latvian-speaking and Russian-speaking teenagers from two different
schools in Rig: (Russian) School # 88 and the Theatre School of Ligita
Smildzina. This multimedia play is about the lives of Eva Schloss
and Hello Silverberg, who both knew Anne Frank before she went into
hiding with her family. It is their story of survival during the Holocaust.
The young cast has performed on various occasions. Performances in
schools will be continued in 2001. Further information can be obtained from the representatvive of the Anne Frank House in Latvia, Ms. Katarina Hartgers or from the Anne Frank House 4. THE EXHIBITION ON THE COEXISTENCE OF LITHUANIANS AND JEWS THROUGHOUT THE CENTURIES Five different
organisations (Lithuanian History Institute, Vilna Gaon Jewish State
Museum, Textbook Research and Information Centre for Baltic Countries,
Centre for Civic Initiatives and the Anne Frank House), are currently
involved in developing an exhibition for 5. THE EXHIBITION ON SHEINA GRAM - A LATVIAN JEWISH GIRL In co-operation with the Anne Frank House the Museum Jews in Latvia (in Riga) has developed a short additional exhibition that is travelling together with the exhibition "Anne Frank - a History for Today" all over Latvia. The exhibition tells the story of the short life of Sheina Gram that kept a diary from the occupation of Latvia by the Nazis until her execution 6 weeks later. Further information
